Images and music were recorded, as planned, on September 11, 2001 in Italy, at Sting's, after he learned of what had happened in New York. This concert for happy few, intimate at will, in front of an audience limited to 200 handpicked people (friends, journalists, etc.), will not be canceled despite the sadness. The atmosphere that emanates from it is like a mark of meditation and a particular tranquility. Touched by grace, the former leader of Police revisits his repertoire with a jazzy sauce, accompanied, among others, by the excellent Jason Rebello, Chris McBride and Manu Katché. All the standards are there ("Roxanne", "All This Time"), some taking on a singular dimension like "Englisman In New York" or "(If You Love Someone) Set Them Free". Note, an unpublished work composed by jazz pianist Kenny Kirkland ("Dienda") is included in the repertoire. --Hervé Comte
