Details: Alexandre Da Costa joins the ranks of Spectra Musique with his new record Stradivarius à l'opéra. An album recorded with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra featuring great opera arias in arrangements that highlight Alexandre Da Costa as a violin soloist. It is worth noting that Da Costa plays on the 1727 "Di Barbaro" Stradivarius violin. Winner of the 2012 JUNO Award for "Classical Album of the Year," the Montreal-born musician gave his first concerts at the age of nine, earning him recognition as a musical prodigy. His career as a violin soloist began at a young age, when he was propelled onto the stage with the encouragement of Charles Dutoit. At the age of 18, he earned a Master's degree in Violin and a First Prize in competition at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec. He later studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid under his mentor Zakhar Bron (who trained violinists such as Maxim Vengerov and Vadim Repin, among others).
