Details: Amazon.ca Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits did not hesitate to go against the grain, meaning they celebrated the 60s and guitar heroes at a time when the fashion was for punk nihilism followed by synthetic new wave aestheticism. Yet, far from sinking after a strong first album, the English band never stopped expanding its audience to the point of being recognized as one of the most vigilant guardians of rock tradition. From "Tunnel Of Love" to "Money For Nothing," including "Sultans Of Swing" or "Calling Elvis," this aptly named The Very Best Of is a real treat. Knopfler's "pyrotechnic" guitar exploits also have a lot to do with it! --Philippe Margotin Product description Brand New
