Details: Amazon.ca We can't accuse Venus 3 of going around in circles listening to On Which Planet. On this second album, the singer Vicky Martel and her three friends knew how to renew themselves without losing the keys to their charm: audacious melodies served with infectious energy. Thanks to the production of Haig Verzbedian (Bran Van 3000), the formation from Quebec has broadened its musical horizons, deviating from the ska-pop which has made it famous and abandoning the brass - if not for a few relevant incursions, especially in the excellent piece with a reggae flavor "L'Enfer… pour la vie". In addition to offering more biting rock ("Si tu rêve", "Elle marche"), Vénus 3 now flirts with electronics: the spectacular finale of "Dans les airs" is particularly delicious and the rhythms almost drum'n' bass of "Ton Nuage" pleasantly surprises. If a few more conventional pieces give rise to a drop in speed in the middle of the course, the frenzied version of "Eleanor Rigby", from the Beatles, and the solid "I feel sad" (composed for 5 X NON, awareness program young people to violence) come to close the album on a dynamic note. Despite a slight misdirection, therefore, On Which Planet is a success and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the great talent of Vénus 3. --Frédéric Boudreault Product Description Vénus 3
