Distribution Plages is proud to present the 13th album by Suroît, "Bercer l'amer," an album of sea shanties. The charm and originality of the Magdalen Islands group Suroît, which has sold over 75,000 albums in its career, come from the refined style of traditional music enhanced by contemporary sounds. The four musicians of Suroît are all natives of the Magdalen Islands. Tireless travelers, they roam the world to tell their story, introduce their roots, and share their musical influences. As multi-instrumentalists, they bring the energy of the "suroît"—the southwest wind that brings fair weather—wherever they perform. A violin, an electric guitar, a mandolin, and the rhythm of feet and bones bring a breath of fresh air to traditional music.
