This feature-length fiction film captures, in its brutal reality, the behavior of the inhabitants of a village in the Beauce region toward an outcast family they relentlessly persecute because, in their eyes, they embody evil. Do the mother and daughter not trade in their charms? Does Taureau, the son, a herculean half-wit, not dare to court the village schoolteacher? To save their honor, they feel they must strike, and quickly.
