Details: Product Description Original Soundtrack Composed By Jugoslavian Artist - Goran Bregovic. Amazon.ca There are some soundtracks that one remembers just as well as the films they are meant to accompany. This is the case here, with orchestra and choir, which aptly underscores the metaphors of Emir Kusturica, and even suggests others just as fascinating. In addition, certain themes from Kuduz, a film by Ademir Kenovic, are added to excerpts from the feature film that won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1989. Far from lacking unity, this soundtrack provides a fairly faithful image of the traditional music of the former Yugoslavia, also drawing inspiration from a composition from southern Italy. The credit for this goes entirely to composer Goran Bregovic, who provides arrangements here that are accessible enough to win over neophytes. The more curious will have only to dig a little deeper into this national repertoire to unearth other treasures. --Jacques Denis
