Author: Tiersen, Yann

Format: Import

Release Date: 01-29-2002

Details: Amazon.ca Shortly after Le Phare - the breakthrough record - Yann Tiersen released this very different album. Different because the multi-instrumentalist stepped up to the microphone this time to speak and sing lyrics torn from everyday life himself. Different also because Yann Tiersen, rather solitary until now, enlisted the friendly and warm services of several musicians, including Married Monk and Olivier Mellano (violinist for Miossec and guitarist for Dominique A); from then on, his music sometimes ventures into warmer, even rockier waters, between electric bass, drums, guitar, and piano (cf. "La Crise," "Tout est calme," and "La Pharmacie"). --Hubert Deshouse
