The singer brought together renowned collaborators, including Charles Aznavour, Daniel Lavoie and Roger Tabra, and obtained permission to perform "Le Plus Beau Concerto", a superb new title by Léo Ferré. Despite this star team, Pelletier has not always been able to define his musical direction and find the accompaniments that highlight his 16 pieces. "I'm going on a trip", by Aznavour, perishes under insipid and enticing arrangements while "He will do you" wanders between jazz and country. On the other hand, when the interpreter avoids vocal prowess and honeyed flights and favors balanced orchestrations, he offers the best of himself. The sober and touching "Marie rêve", the effective "Let your life burn" and the solid "I believe yet..." are among the beautiful titles of his repertoire. -- Nicolas Houle
