Details: Chantal is a secretive teenager. She lives between a sick mother and an unemployed father. Upon her mother's death, she leaves the family home and travels to the Gaspé Peninsula. She takes with her a photo of a beach near Gaspé where her mother dreamed of returning. Chantal tries in vain to find this place. After wandering for several days and at the end of her resources, she finds refuge with Serge, a taciturn farmer, on his small farm in the backcountry. Serge hires Chantal, and gradually, these two solitary beings get to know one another. Through contact with the surrounding nature, Chantal opens up to the world and its beauty. The farm is in trouble. Serge resists his sister Laura’s desire to sell off what remains of their heritage. They find themselves at a stalemate. Serge and Chantal grow closer little by little. The film is the story of their meeting and how they come to know each other.
