Second hand utopia
Author: Zebda
Release Date: 03-09-2002
Details: Amazon.ca After Le Bruit et l'Odeur, a legendary formula taken from a speech by President Chirac, Zebda, who no longer runs on ordinary gasoline since the success of the hit single "Tomber la chemise" (and its avalanche of awards at the Victoires de la Musique 2000), still dreams of "seeing flowers grow on car wrecks". This collective from the northern districts of Toulouse always vigorously denounces injustice with a great deal of mixed refrains. To the usual rock-rap-raï-funk grub stuffed with accordion, violin, piano and percussion, are now added some jazzy spices "J'y suis, j'y reste" or world music "Le more beautiful". With this main course, this second-hand Utopia, the seven twitchy militants, rhyme workers, "savages, moths, pranks, bad boys" celebrate their thirteenth anniversary. More motivated cousins of the Négresses Vertes or less sound-system of the Fabulous Troubadours, the Zebda are children of rock with an accent. --Sabrina Silamo Product Description 2002 Album Release from the French Rocker.
