Details: Product Description Laloux, Philippe Amazon.ca Philippe Laloux's first album with the magnificent title, Vos désordres sont désirs (Your Disorders Are Desires), is an invitation to savor the words of a gentle adventurer, to taste the sweet bouquets of samba and bossa nova. A Belgian by birth, former owner and renowned chef of the Montreal restaurant bearing his name, Laloux proves to be an epicurean in love with sunshine, Latin warmth, and poetry. The singer-songwriter covers Baudelaire's "Le Voyage," reshapes "Allégeance," the most beautiful poem by René Char, and pays tribute to Pessoa and his multiple incarnations in "La vie sans moi." One might think of Maxime Le Forestier for the voice, and Bernard Lavilliers for the Brazilian accents and a slightly rascally eloquence. Like a good cook, Laloux knows how to combine ingredients: he ensures an impeccable production thanks to the contribution of Francis Collard, the mastermind behind the albums of Ariane Moffatt and Paolo Ramos, who respectively lend their voice and guitar to Vos désordres sont désirs. In the end, an album that is pleasant to listen to, a light and flavorful musical dish. -- Diane Jean
