Details: Amazon.ca Four years passed between the release of *Les Nouveaux Héros* and *Vu d’ici*. Four years of soul-searching for Luc De Larochellière. A period in the wilderness that *Vu d’ici* strives to translate. Inevitably dark, the album focuses more on atmosphere than melody and offers lyrics that are often somber, resembling a catharsis ("À quoi ça m’sert de penser à toi"). While they do not yield easily, the 10 songs on *Vu d’ici* are nonetheless highly interesting, presenting the Quebec singer-songwriter in a musical context that was unfamiliar to him. His unique voice is sometimes understated. The polished arrangements remain restrained and the words, as always, are masterful: "J’irai ou bien j’irai pas/Car j’ai du plomb plein mes semelles/Et de l’or plein mon sommeil." A rich album that reveals itself with each listen. --Nicolas Houle Product Description de Larochellière, Luc
