Details: Known for his long and precious collaboration with the Cirque du Soleil ( Alegria , Mystère , Saltimbanco ), René Dupéré lent his talent as a composer to the Dutch ice ballet troupe Holiday on Ice. First released in Europe, the soundtrack for the show Xotika , featuring the 65-piece London Musicians Orchestra, was remixed and re-released in North America in 2002.

As usual, René Dupéré draws from all genres, inviting our imagination to follow him through times and countries. The three movements of the inspiring “Freedom” evoke sometimes a kid spinning on his bicycle, sometimes a wave rising like a whirlwind towards the sky. In the luminous “Windspirits”, flute, guitar and voice engage in a dialogue that we would like to last forever. And what about the majestic “Finale”, whose performance has nothing to envy to the great symphonies.

The 13 tracks of the album are enveloped in the deep and powerful voice of the composer's faithful collaborator, Élise Velle ( Mystère , La belle est dans ton camp ), whose exotic songs gracefully marry the world music of Xotika . -- Julie Sergeant
