Details: In 2018 she shook up the whole of Quebec and won the edition of the year of the show La Voix. For his first album, Yama Laurent offers rereadings of well-known songs with titles popularized by Lara Fabian, Céline Dion, Patricia Kaas or Aretha Franklin. Under the artistic direction of Lionel Lavault (who is behind Ginette Reno's latest album), the songs take on a resolutely pop style. Yama's unique voice gives the whole album vintage accents while the arrangements of the songs are for their part very current in their sounds. We find a song that marked his time at La Voix, 'Let it be', in duet with Nanette Workman, as well as a surprise duet with Garou on the song 'Un peu de nous'.
