When the cable of their shark observation cage breaks, sisters Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) sink to the bottom of the ocean. As they battle injuries and a lack of oxygen, they must find a way to the surface but their only path to safety is swarming with massive great white sharks.
