Details: Liona Boyd is a five time winner of Guitar Player magazine's annual poll as well as five time Juno Award winner (Canada's equivalent of the Grammy). Recorded using over 25 musicians in Toronto, Miami, Los Angeles and New Jersey, Camino Latino features Liona's virtuoso playing with special guests guitar superstars Al Di Meola, Strunz and Farah, Jessie Cook and Steve Morse, as well as performances by Pavlo, Johannes Linstead, Innis, Ron Korb and Luis Villegas. This unique album blends catchy Latin rhythms with classical guitar technique which Liona calls "Nuevo Latino." This CD was produced by Richard Fortin with the exception of Samba Para Dos, produced by Jessie Cook. In 'Ambos Mundos' ( Both Worlds), written by Liona for her friends Strunz and Farah, you can hear the blend of Latin and Middle East influences reflecting their distinct origins, whereas in her one solo piece 'Mexico Mi Amor' (Mexico My Love) we are given a taste of the expressive solo playing that gave Liona Boyd her international reputation.
