À bord du Diego Star, un cargo vétuste naviguant sur le Saint-Laurent en plein hiver, un incident majeur se produit. Rapidement, Traoré, un mécanicien ivoirien, est injustement accusé. Le bateau est remorqué au chantier maritime le plus près pour être réparé. Dans l'intervalle, l'équipage est hébergé par les habitants de cette petite ville blanche. Loin des siens et de ses repères, Traoré s'enfonce alors dans l'hiver québécois...

A serious accident occurs on board the Diego Star, a dilapidated cargo ship, stranding it on the Canadian Saint Lawrence River to await repairs. Traoré, a mechanic from the Ivory Coast, is unjustly accused of causing the damage. Far from home and family, Traoré tries to offer friendship to Fanny, a single mother who takes him in, while he struggles to fight for justice.
