Details: From Amazon There's been a strange phenomenon in the world of music lately. Artists with only two or three releases are putting out greatest hits records. This is not the case with Vancouver's Matthew Good. With seven CDs released over the last ten years, 14 Juno award nominations and over 900,000 discs sold, the time has come for a definitive collection. Good tends to write his songs in one of two styles; first, the full-on modern rock melodies, well-crafted tracks that tend to appeal to the college crowd. (Anthems like "Hello Time Bomb," "Load Me Up," and the throbbing "Everything Is Automatic" fall into this category.) Where Matt goes from very good to great is his other style: fragile, floating compositions that sweep orchestrally from whispers to waves of deeply emotive choruses. Included in that style, you'll find the pensive "Strange Days," the implosive "Symbolistic White Walls," and the stunning "Apparitions," a powerful track which was further enhanced by one of the best Canadian videos ever made. It's rare to say, but Matt Good's videos are frequently highly watchable, and the deluxe version of this collection is a worthy investment. The second disc contains many extras: all of Matt's music videos, some documentary footage, and 19 additional music tracks, including compelling acoustic reworkings of his many classics. Matt's success has been understated at times, but when such a grand collection of songs are come together, Good's contribution to Canadian music is undeniably strong: this is truly a great greatest hits disc. --Denise Sheppard The Best from Good Underdogs Raygun (Ep) Audio of Being Beautiful Midnight Avalanche White Light Rock & Roll Review Product Description Classroom Edition.
