The mullet is gone--replaced by a bald head--but his classic rock & roll style remains. Mitchell has always been a master of the no-apologies straight-ahead rock hook, and this album is no exception; the disc starts out with its strongest number (and title track), the feel-good up-tempo "Ain't Life Amazing." Mitchell manages to venture into ZZ Top-esque territory a few times on the disc, including the ripping rocker "I Got a Line on You" (featuring a blistering extended guitar solo courtesy of Mitchell himself) as well as "In the Stars Tonight." Overall, the disc isn't as radio-friendly as some of Mitchell's aforementioned hits; his penchant for slightly harder riffs ("Killer's Name" "Rock That Rhyme") echo a little more towards his old band Max Webster, a fact which will delight some and disappoint others looking for some lighthearted summertime tunes to play while enjoying backyard burgers & brew. --Denise Sheppard Product Description KIM MITCHELL
