Details: Amazon.ca Party rock doesn't get any less pretentious than Kim Mitchell. While his old band, Max Webster, might have dabbled in prog trickery, the frat favourite with the O.P.P. baseball cap holds no airs about being anything more than a straight-ahead good-time rocker in his solo work. 1986's Shakin' Like a Human Being is a long- weekend must-have, full of fist-shaking classic rock radio staples like "Get Lucky" and "Alana Loves Me," as well as slow dance faves like "Patio Lanterns." The cheesy synth sounds and lyrics by mustachioed sidekick Pye Dubois are about as subtle as a tight pair of jeans, so Shakin' Like a Human Being hasn't aged particularly well. It's hard not to picture yourself in a beer commercial when the power ballad "Easy to Tame" comes on.
