Details: Amazon.ca Its content may be feather-light, but Wave's shiny, happy sophomore disc State of Mind is far too pleasant and innocuous to prompt genuine disdain. For this go-round, the Niagara Falls-reared combo of way-cute (like totally!!) vocalist Paul Gigliotti and guitarist Dave Thomson headed to L.A. where, surrounded by a small army of studio musicians, they fashioned chiming choruses and hopelessly catchy melodies into fizzy pure-pop for power teens. The resulting batch of ballads and anthems place Wave alongside such kindred spirits as the Backstreet Boys and b4-4, although "Don't Say Sarah" admirably nicks from the comparatively obscure Hall and Oates--the keyboards are pure "Sara Smile" and heck, even the name's the same. Old school AM pop for today's sparkly nail polish set. --Kim Hughes
