Details: Amazon.ca A foursome of Toronto DJs, Baby Blue Soundcrew made their name playing parties and making bootlegged mixed tapes that sold in the 10s of thousands. Urban Nostalgia Volume 1 is as close to those early party rockers as you can get on a major label. Using the "urban" definition of nostalgia, where two- and three-year-old songs are considered old school, the Crew mix together hip-hop and soul classics like Boyz II Men's "Motown Philly," De La Soul's "Me, Myself & I," LL Cool J's "Doin' It," and, oddly, Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," cutting up the tracks with their own between-song patter. It's not a particularly radical mix or choice of songs, but the intent here is to rock the party, and beyond the peculiar inclusion of Lionel Richie's "All Night Long," Baby Blue Soundcrew do just that. --Matt Galloway Product Description The Candian Urban Ambassadors, Baby Blue, are back with a 100% DJ mixed compilation of OldSchool, Hip Hop, R&B tracks.
