The time retained within the walls of this clinic will be responsible for taking the four characters in unexpected directions… Parle avec elle is a story of friendship and love, loneliness and affection. The actors are excellent, the dialogues brilliant, and the photography particularly neat, as is often the case with Almodovar who, interestingly, had originally written the sequence in silent black and white in order to make it into a feature film. It is therefore with your eyes closed that you will be able to acquire this moving DVD, one more success on the list of the extravagant Spanish. --David Rault!
